During my twenties, throughout nearly two years of military service in South Korea, I read over 500 books. In response to a letter I wrote requesting books for soldiers, an economic federation established a library on our base. Whether facing grief, startup collapse, or my late mother's illness, physical books brought me laughter, reasons to endure, and the power to rebuild reality.

Years later, I met a brilliant young peer from Nigeria. I desperately wished to share a life-changing memoir by a South Korean mentor, but no English translation existed. I was powerless. Our lives are finite; we cannot spend our brief decades wrestling with grammar when we should be absorbing wisdom. We build Emebala so that no mind on Earth remains imprisoned by language.
